These were taken over two days in Krakow, a spectacular location for street photography. I was particularly drawn by the Kamierz district‘s unique mixture of architecture, history and grunge, even if it was shocking to see many of the elegant old buildings completely covered in graffiti. The midsummer city was hot, but not humid. I processed the images to simulate sun-saturated Fuji Fortia film. I have been to Krakow several times and remember how it felt after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Back then, it was grimy and cold, and very different to the colourful tourist city of today.
